Since 1994, the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools (ASBCS) has been the state’s primary charter school authorizer, dedicated to ensuring quality, accountability, and innovation in Arizona’s charter school system. ASBCS oversees the approval, monitoring, and renewal of charter schools, ensuring they meet rigorous academic, financial, and operational standards. Our mission is to improve public education in Arizona by sponsoring charter schools that provide quality educational choices. Through responsible oversight and support, we strive to empower schools to deliver excellence and opportunity to students across Arizona.
